Grey Wolf
Grey wolf (Canis lupus) along the Dalton Highway north of Coldfoot, AK. It’s the largest member of Canada and males can get over 95 lb. We saw him starting to cross the road ahead of us, then he saw us and turned back. He trotted along the road and disappear for a while, but then he popped out again to cross. He really wanted to get to the other side! As we slowly went forward, we could tell he was still shadowing in the brush because every so often a hare would burst out and run across the road away from the wolf. June 10, 2018 3:04 am.

Two grizzly bears on road
This was taken through the front windshield of a van. I barely caught these two as they crossed the Dalton Highway.

Red Fox bounding through high arctic
Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) is a so-called “true fox” (meaning they are a clade, or from a common ancestor). There are 12 true fox species. There are other canines called fox that are not true fox, such as various island foxes or simian fox. This guys is running through the willows and brush about 800’ away, so at just short of 4’ long (including tail), he’s only about 0.3 degrees of arc in the photo. The photos are from Jun 9, 2018 just after 22:30h.
The photos are at the Chandalar Shelf, Alaska, at the dalton highway.

In the blur, you can see the guy scratching his right ear with hind leg — maybe a mosquito in the ear?

Red Fox in Black Silvertip Morph
Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes), but this one is the “silver tipped” variety that was actively bred for its fur because of its use in women’s clothing. This guy ran along the road by our van for a while. At one point, he found a squirrel to play with and tossed it around, before leaving it. Fun for the fox, at least. The photo is from June 8, 2018 around 2:44 am. It was on the mid Dalton Highway, Alaska, between the Yukon and Coldfoot, if I remember correctly.
